Oxford security research successful at ACM CCS 2014 and ACM WiSec 2014
Posted: 10th September 2014
The paper ARPKI: Attack Resilient Public-Key Infrastructure was accepted at the flagship ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security, CCS 2014. The paper proposes a new internet public-key infrastructure that ensures that certificate-related operations, such as certificate issuance, update, revocation, and validation are transparent and accountable. ARPKI offers extremely strong security guarantees, where impersonation attacks are prevented unless attackers manage to compromise multiple parties.
The paper Gaining Insight on Friendly Jamming in a Real-World IEEE 802.11 Network received the Best Student Paper Award at this year's ACM Conference on Security and Privacy in Wireless and Mobile Networks. The paper investigates the applicability of wireless signal interference as a security primitive to enforce wireless access control, i.e., jamming untrusted wireless packets, while minimising the interference with legitimate wireless traffic. ACM WiSec is one of the premier annual conferences in the field of wireless and mobile security and privacy.
