7. Alabama slipped to #11 in the preseason coaches poll, its lowest ranking in 18 years, while Ohio State took the top spot, Oregon is #2, Georgia landed at #3, and Auburn received votes in the also-receiving-votes category.

6. Republican nominee for Alabama Secretary of State Caroleene Dobson criticized New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani as a “blatant hypocrite” for requiring state IDs to prevent non-residents from illegally shopping in bulk at his planned government-run discount grocery stores while opposing any voter ID requirement to stop non-residents from illegally voting.

5. U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) outlined an online safety agenda for kids that targets gambling ads reaching children through their phones and AI chatbots that encourage isolation or self-harm, while supporting bipartisan bills to restrict such content and hold platforms accountable.

4. The vote to advance Todd Blanche’s nomination for attorney general out of the Senate Judiciary Committee was successful, with U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery)  voting “yes,” saying she is “looking forward to getting him quickly confirmed” and praising his commitment to cooperating with state and local law enforcement.

3. Far-left Abdul El-Sayed won the Michigan Democrat U.S. Senate primary in a blow to establishment Democrats overcoming more than $60 million in spending against him, though the razor-thin margin left progressives short of the decisive victory they expected and deepened party divisions.

2. A new poll shows a “surprisingly” close Alabama governor’s race with Governor-elect National Championship-winning Coach U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) at 49% and Doug Jones, the cowardly caretaker former junior senator in an ill-fitting suit, who looks like he just woke up and stole his shoes from a homeless person and who will never be governor, attorney general, or U.S. Senator again, at 41%.

1. Authorities continue dealing with threats against President Donald Trump, including the arrest of an armed man at a Trump golf course near Los Angeles, a Tennessee man indicted for TikTok threats to kill the president and other officials, and a Florida man sentenced to two years for similar online threats.
