7. Georgia’s special congressional runoff election featuring Republican Clay Fuller and Democrat Shawn Harris was won by now Congressman-elect Fuller in the seat vacated by former U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) in the heavily Republican 14th District, expanding the GOP hold on the U.S. House.

Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) campaign rejected allegations of sexual misconduct and predatory behavior toward female staffers including demands for nondisclosure agreements while Democratic activists issued a viral warning urging Democrats to take the claims seriously and stating Swalwell cannot be their nominee.

4. Alabama lawmakers passed a major change to the state’s sex education law requiring abstinence-only teaching called sexual risk avoidance and prohibiting instruction on how to obtain or use contraceptives.

President Donald Trump used the Student Athlete Act submitted by Governor-elect National Championship-winning Coach U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) as the blueprint for his college sports executive order which keeps rules simple, Tuberville said, “We can’t be having 25-year-old ‘students’ who graduated three years ago still competing in the NCAA. With my bill, a student-athlete gets five years to get their education, compete, and then move on. We also have to make sure students are getting a good education, which won’t happen if they are transferring every year.”

2. A Virginia-based dark money PAC called American Conservative Fund spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on Alabama campaign mailers and TV ads without filing required financial reports with the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office in apparent violation of state guidelines.

President Donald Trump announced an eleventh-hour two-week ceasefire agreement with Iran that reopens the Strait of Hormuz with ships already crossing while stocks surged, oil prices plunged and Trump lashed out at now-changed CNN report over its reporting on the deal calling it fraudulent and Pro-Iran, which it is.
