In 2026, the Union of Journalism Education of Chinese and Russian Universities marked its 10th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, a summer camp was organized by Renmin University of China. The program ran from July 4 to July 14 in Beijing and brought together journalism students from 10 Russian universities.
Faculty of Journalism was represented by Ksenia Khachaturova. Over the course of the program, participants attended lectures delivered by the delegates from leading Beijing universities, gained insight into China’s contemporary media system, visited the editorial office of People’s Daily, and worked on a joint project.
According to Ksenia Khachaturova, the camp turned out to be a significant professional and personal experience. “What I valued most was the interaction with participants from both Russia and China: working in teams, we quickly became friends, exchanged contacts, and continued to stay in touch after the camp ended,” the student said.
The summer camp served as part of the efforts to strengthen cooperation between journalism schools in Russia and China, offering students not only a chance to explore another country’s media environment but also to create both professional and personal connections.
