Halo is attempting to return to the spotlight, but Halo: Campaign Evolved hasn’t been the biggest success.

Following this release, the series faces uncertainty yet again. Interestingly, a veteran developer has shown interest in rejoining the development team amid the ongoing uncertainty.

Why it matters: Internally, Halo Studios has been held back by turmoil and management problems. The return of veteran developers could somewhat combat this problem.

Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto has been sharing his thoughts on the Campaign Evolved remake on Twitter for a while now. Overall, the former Bungie developer has enjoyed what the game has offered, but he has also criticized parts of the experience, including the prequel missions.

His posts have also drawn attention from the fans, with some hoping to see the developer back on the team. Marcus Lehto seems more than happy to do so, judging by a recent response to a fan.

I would love to come back.

Of course, Halo’s recent management struggles are no secret. The franchise has been held together thanks to heavy outsourcing, but within Halo Studios itself, the team has been unable to find a proper direction for Xbox’s most iconic IP.

Perhaps veteran developers like Marcus Lehto could help steer the series in the right direction. In fact, fans have also called for other veteran game designers to return, hoping to see Halo reach its highs from the early 2000s again.
