Ceer-EV

It’s not a Hyundai, BMW, or Rimac, but it uses components from all three. Ceer is a new EV brand, and its first vehicle was just spotted out in public with a design that’s… unique, to say the least.

Ceer is Saudi Arabia’s first domestic EV brand

Launched in 2022 by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, Ceer is Saudi Arabia’s (yes, that Saudi Arabia) first homegrown electric vehicle brand.

The company will be the first Saudi auto brand to build EVs domestically for sale in Saudi Arabia and a few overseas markets, such as the Middle East. However, it does not currently produce its own technology.

Ceer is a joint venture between Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Hon Hai Precision Co. (Foxconn), but uses licensed BMW technology to develop vehicles.

In June 2024, the startup secured a deal with Hyundai Transys to use its three-in-one electric drive system for its upcoming EVs. A few months later, in November, Ceer announced a partnership with Rimac to use its high-performance EDS.

While CEER is gearing up to launch its first EV in 2026, we are finally getting an idea of what it will look like. The prototype, spotted by Response, looks like a shrunken Tesla Cybertruck mixed with a crossover SUV body style.

Although no specifics were mentioned, the company claims it has the “world’s largest windshield,” which is nearly flat to optimize airflow. It will apparently have infrared protection and improved sound insulation. The side windows are also unique, thanks to what appear to be butterfly doors.

According to the report, Ceer is currently testing its first EV at a “secret” facility in Europe. The company has yet to reveal any other information, including prices or specs. We should learn more soon.

Ceer is a part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic growth plan to help reduce its reliance on oil by diversifying into new tech and renewable energy. By 2034, PIF projects Ceer will directly contribute $8 billion to Saudi Arabia’s GDP.
