What draws buyers to Belize today? And where are most of them coming from now?

Belize continues to attract buyers who are looking for a simpler, more balanced way of life. Many are initially drawn by the opportunity to experience a destination that still feels authentic and relatively undiscovered, along with a favorable cost of living and the ability to enjoy the outdoors year-round. We continue to see strong interest from buyers across North America, particularly from the United States and Canada, as well as other countries with convenient direct flight access to Belize.

How have buyers’ lifestyle expectations or priorities changed? Are they looking for something different in a property now than they were a few years ago?

The market has evolved considerably over the past several years. Belize was once seen primarily as a retirement destination, but today we are seeing a much broader range of buyers. Many are looking for properties that offer both a lifestyle and an investment opportunity, with vacation rentals and income-producing homes becoming increasingly popular. Buyers are looking for flexibility, whether that means enjoying the property themselves, generating rental income, or planning for a future move to Belize.
