Baker McKenzie Earns 35 Practice and Sector Area Rankings and 28 Lawyer Rankings in The Legal 500 US 2026

Global law firm Baker McKenzie has received 35 practice and sector area and 28 lawyer rankings in the 2026 edition of The Legal 500 United States.

The Firm received a new Tier 1 ranking for Dispute Resolution: General Commercial Disputes and maintained its Tier 1 rankings for International Trade and National Security: Customs, Export Controls and Economic Sanctions; Media, Technology and Telecoms: Cyber Law (including Data Privacy and Data Protection); and Tax: US Taxes: Contentious. 

Additionally, the Firm received new rankings for Finance: Fintech; Energy: Energy Litigation: Oil & Gas; and Finance: Capital Markets: Equity Offerings: Advice to Managers. 

The Firm also attained practice area promotions for International Trade and National Security: National Security; Dispute Resolution: Product Liability, Mass Tort and Class Action – Defense: Consumer Products; and M&A/Corporate and Commercial: Private Equity Buyouts: Middle-Market.

The Legal 500 rankings are based on a series of criteria, including work conducted by law firms over the past 12 months, experience and depth of teams, areas of specialization and ancillary services, and client feedback.

  • Scott Frewing (newly ranked) – Tax: US Taxes: Contentious
  • Peter George – Media, Technology and Telecoms: Outsourcing
  • Mark Goodman (newly ranked) – Dispute Resolution: General Commercial Disputes and Dispute Resolution: International Litigation
  • Jessica Greenwald – Intellectual Property: Patents: Prosecution (including Re-Examination and Post-Grant Proceedings)
  • Benjamin Ho – Labor and Employment: Workplace and Employment Counseling
  • Brian Hengesbaugh – Media, Technology and Telecoms: Cyber Law (including Data Privacy and Data Protection)
  • Rod Hunter – International Trade and National Security: CFIUS
