He left Wales to spend the summer of his life in the Majorcan villa. 

And Liam Reardon looked cosy on a hiking trip up the highest peak in south Wales Pen y Fan with his girlfriend Millie Court on Wednesday as he returned to his hometown.

The bricklayer from Merthyr Tydfil, 22, and the Essex girl, 24, cuddled up in new snaps from the trip on their Instagram after getting up at 4.30am to catch the sunrise. 

Millie looked snug in an orange coat and black scarf as she snapped a sweet selfie with her man who donned a grey hoodie. 

In another snap Millie showed Liam looking out over the incredible views before showing fans their walking boots mid hike. 

The blonde beauty wrote in the caption: 'Wales, you are beautiful!!'

Sharing the same snaps Liam wrote: 'Back to what I love doing, only now with my sidekick. 

'Didn't think I'd get her up at 4:30am and to the top but she made it. Great to be back home showing @milliegracecourt around Wales!' 

It comes after last week viewing figures for the final were revealed with Liam and Millie scoring an impressive 42.02% of the public's votes, made via the show's mobile app, while Chloe and Toby, who placed second, earned 30.85% of votes.

Faye and Teddy saw 14.85% of users voting for them, landing them in third place. Kaz and Tyler, who were the first of the four finalists to be booted from the villa, received 12.27% of the votes.

Love Island's voting system has faced criticism this year, with viewers as well as previous contestants branding it 'pointless'.

The final of this year's Love Island aired on ITV2 saw Liam and Millie's very rocky journey end in glee as they won £50k, and split the money between them, with Liam asking Millie to be his official girlfriend during their live exit interview. 

The remaining couples of the series were whittled down bit-by-bit as they waited to find out who would be crowned the series' winners.

Millie and Liam chatted about their time on the show, with Laura asking them how they overcame their dreaded Casa Amor incident - which saw Liam kiss another girl, Lillie, while staying in the other villa, as Millie remained faithful.

Although Liam returned to the show without Lillie, attempting to paper over the infidelity, she swiftly entered after him and told Millie what had gone on. Despite splitting with him at first, Millie eventually took Liam back, with them saying 'I Love You' in the final week of the show. 

Of saying the L word, Liam told Laura: 'It was on the tip of my tongue for a week, and I was so close to saying it but I wanted to wait until a nice time, and I thought that last date in the castle was the perfect moment. So I said it, and I beat Millie to it!'

While Millie added: 'We both planned to say it, but we didn't know we were both going to say it that night. But because it was his birthday, I thought it was the perfect time to say it and make it really special.'

Liam then sealed the deal in front of Laura and the other finalists on Monday's live broadcast by asking Millie to be his girlfriend, telling her he'd been 'thinking about saying it for a while'.

In the final moments of the show, Millie picked the envelope with the money inside meaning she could choose to keep the cash herself and leave Liam with nothing, or split it evenly between them – which is the option she chose.
