A fresh round of cash Isa hikes has seen Trading 212 lift its rate all the way up to 4.71 per cent.

A rate war at the top of the cash Isa tables has seen a flurry of rises, with Trading 212* ending the week in pole position.

You can secure the 4.71 per cent variable rate, which includes a 1.11 per cent 12 month bonus by using our special Trading 212* link.

Rival saving and investing platform Moneybox has raised its cash Isa rate to 4.7 per cent variable, which includes a 1.25 per cent bonus for 12 months.

Meanwhile Plum* has lifted its cash Isa rate from 4.48 per cent to 4.66 per cent variable, which includes a 2.12 per cent bonus for 12 months.

A battle at the top of the cash Isa tables is good news for savers

Which is the best cash Isa?

We like the fact that both Trading 212 and Plum offer flexible Isas, which means you can withdraw money and replace it in the same tax year without eating into that year's Isa allowance.

Trading 212's* normal, non-boosted 3.6 per cent rate is higher than Plum's, which falls further after 12 months to 2.54 per cent.

Trading 212's promotional rate only applies to funds deposited in the current tax year, so transfers of contributions made in previous tax years will receive the standard bonus-free 3.6 per cent rate.

Plum* offers a lower 4 per cent variable rate on transfers, which includes a 1.46 per cent boost for 12 months.

Both Isas can be opened with just £1.

Moneybox sits closer to Trading 212 on the short-term 1.2 per cent bonus but is not flexible.

There are more catches too. A higher minimum deposit of £500 is imposed and you must keep your balance at this level and make less than four withdrawals a year, otherwise your rate will plummet to 0.75 per cent.
