A Bromley resident is celebrating a £100,000 windfall in the latest National Savings and Investments Premium Bonds prize draw from a holding of just £270.
The winning bond in the June draw from the Greater London town was purchased in February 2000, when Rise by Gabrielle topped the pop charts and Toy Story 2 dominated the cinema.
The 36,937 per cent return is the standout win from the latest draw – the last in which the underlying rate will be 3.3 per cent - with no other three-figure holdings winning a £100,000 or £50,000 prize.
From next month, NS&I will boost the Premium Bonds prize rate to 3.8 per cent.
The odds of winning a prize per £1 bond reverts back to 22,000 to one, from the current 23,000 to one.

The two £1million winners came from Leeds and Cheshire/West Chester.
The Leeds winner purchased their bond only in February 2026 and holds £42,425 in total. They are the fifth winner from the West Yorkshire city.
The second winner purchased their winning bond in March 2024 and holds £33,800. They are the second person to win the top prize from Cheshire/West Chester.
In total, NS&I dished out more than 5.9million prizes this month worth £376million – and 71 won £100,000.
Savers can hold up to £50,000 in Premium Bonds. Newly purchased Premium Bonds need to be held for one full calendar month after purchase before being eligible for the prize draw.
Each £1 Bond purchased is entered into a monthly prize draw, where prizes range from £25 to £1million.
