Stefanos Tsitsipas and Aussie firebrand Nick Kyrgios have built quite the rivalry on the ATP Tour. But could they soon be neighbours?

It is not out of the realm of possibilities, with the Greek tennis star lapping up the appreciation from the Australian Open crowd and contemplating a permanent move down under.

Tsitsipas loves playing in Australia and has a strong following. He has now floated the idea of potentially moving down under

The Aussie Open title hope had the crowd in stitches after his round 1 win by stumbling through some Aussie slang words including 'Crikey, that was a ripsnorter, mate!'

Tsitsipas also mistakenly said he was 'flat out out like a lizard in the water'.

The 24-year-old eased past Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor in straight sets to book his place in the fourth round against Italian Jannik Sinner tomorrow.

When interviewed by former US tennis star Jim Courier after the win, 'Aussie' Tsitsipas was at it again.

'Fair crack of the whip, mate! It was great,' he quipped, to the crowd's delight.

There is a strong Greek community living in Melbourne and many turned out to support Tsitsipas on his quest for a maiden grand slam at the Australian Open.

Their support had the Greek star in good spirits and he spoke about his love for Australia - and his desire to potentially move here.

'I enjoyed the weather today; what a lovely day for tennis, isn't it?' he said.

'We've had a few days of rain … but it's great playing in sunshine like this. This is what Melbourne's all about.

'I enjoyed fighting my way through today. It wasn't easy at times, and I had with crowd with me as always - it's always a great sensation when I'm out here.

'If there are any real estate brokers or agencies, please let me know.'

'The guy wants to live here,' Courier said,

'I get it, I totally understand why.'

Tsitsipas has been in great form in a wide open field at the Australian Open and is a real chance of winning his maiden grand slam

Tsitsipas, 24, was the 2021 runner-up at Roland Garros and is a three-time Melbourne Park semi-finalist while 21-year-old Sinner has made it to the quarter-finals of every slam.

Tsitsipas has a 4-1 record against Sinner, including a straight-sets quarter-final victory at last year's Open.

Sinner will need every edge he can get against Tsitsipas, who is enjoying an unbeaten summer and had a far more straight-forward third-round victory.

A second-set tiebreak was the closest he came to being challenged while he didn't drop any of his 15 service games.
