On 7 July 2020 the FSB officers apprehended O.Sizikov in the village of Sevastyanivka of Bakhchisaray district. The blind Oleksandr allegedly organized the terrorist group and was charged under the Article 205.5-1 of the Criminal Code of the RF. Oleksandr Sizikov was placed in home custody: the lawyers of Oleksandr succeeded to have that preventive measure for him avoiding being behind the bars as Oleksandr’s illness was a reason not to detain him in SIZO. On 17 May 2023 the Southern (Yuzhnyi) district military court of Rostov-on-Don announced the verdict to Oleksandr Sizikov, Alim Sufianov and Seiran Khairedinov in “the case of Crimean Muslims”. Oleksandr Sizikov (disabled person of the 1 category, eyesight) was sentenced to 17 years of imprisonment with first 4 years to be in prison. The court ruled to place him in the penitentiary of a strict regime and, once released, to be liable to freedom limitation for 1,5 year and to abstain from attendance of the public gatherings. The Minusinsk town court of the Krasnoyarsk Krai of the RF freed O.Sizikov on 26 May 2025 due to his illness. The medical examination proved Oleksandr to be completely blind. The disease concerned is among the diseases approved by the Government of the RF as exempting from being imprisoned in penitentiaries. In October the Krasnoyarsk Krai court quashed the decision to free Oleksandr Sizikov and ruled to place him back to the prison. At night of 23 October the occupying police of the Bakhchisaray district of Crimea searched [the dwelling] of the blind Oleksandr and apprehended him.
