Hi Fusion Community,I’d like to share a new capability we have developed at 3DOptix and invite Beta customers from Fusion users who work on opto-mechanical systems.3DOptix is a cloud-based optical design and simulation platform used to design, simulate, and analyze optical systems directly in the browser. We have recently developed an integration that allows optical designs created in 3DOptix to be imported directly into the Autodesk Fusion CAD environment. This enables optical system layouts and optical rays to be interactively updated and visualized alongside the mechanical design. For teams working on cameras, sensors, imaging systems, lasers, AR/VR, robotics, aerospace, defense, and scientific instruments, we believe this can help create a more connected opto-mechanical workflow.Potential value for Fusion users includes:Better collaboration between optical and mechanical engineersEarlier detection of beam path obstructions, vignetting, and alignment issuesFaster design iterations between optical simulation and mechanical CADImproved understanding of how optical paths interact with enclosures, mounts, and mechanical componentsReduced late-stage integration surprises and prototype reworkWe would be happy to offer a Beta version for a trial period and also hear from Fusion users, product teams, or community members who see value in this type of workflow, have feedback, or would be interested in seeing a short demo.
