Anyone who wants to own Control Resonant on a physical PS5 disc will have to wait a couple of weeks after the game's main launch, as boxed copies have been delayed into mid-October 2026.

The digital version on PS Store remains locked in for a 24th September release, and Remedy today revealed the follow-up has gone gold, meaning work on the 1.0 version of the game is complete. However, physical copies have now been pushed back to 15th October.

The developer didn't give a reason for the delay outside of saying it needs "more time to deliver the physical version to you, but rest assured — nothing stays contained forever". This now sets up a three-week gap between the digital version coming out and the physical version hitting shelves.

Fans of physical games are making their voices heard more than ever as Sony moves on from its announcement of discontinuing PlayStation discs from January 2028, as it plans to follow through with the news.
