Lorraine Kelly has given a rare insight into her marriage to husband Steve Smith after they recently celebrated their 33rd anniversary.

ITV host Lorraine, 65, first met her TV cameraman husband when she was working on TV-AM back in the 80s.

The couple, who married in 1992, have just one daughter together named Rosie, 30, who welcomed her own child last year.

While Lorraine tends to keep her private life out of the limelight when she's not on air, she's revealed the reason behind the longevity of her marriage to Steve.

She explained: 'We never take each other for granted because that is so easy to do in a long marriage.'

Lorraine continued: 'It's also important to us that Steve very much has his own life as well as our life together. We've both got our own interests and friends. I do think it is important to have your own space. It gives you more to talk about and he makes me laugh, he's my rock.'

In an interview with The Mirror, Lorraine said they both still 'fancy' each other - and Steve even sends her raunchy messages whilst she's on air.

She revealed: 'That’s important too, all that malarkey. It’s not the main thing, but it’s important.

'The thing he does do, on the rare occasions I might wear something a little lower cut than normal on my show, he sends me a wee text to say, "Nice boobies!" So he appreciates that.'

Last month, Lorraine shocked Loose Women panelists as she made an outrageous admission about her sex life. 

She appeared on the ITV show to chat the the ladies about her important Change + Check campaign - which promotes breast cancer awareness. 

'It's about knowing our normal. Checking yourself. it's about knowing your normal,' Lorraine told Kaye, Coleen Nolan, Mariella Frostup and Jane Moore. 

Kaye said: 'So the campaign rolls on, today to be recognised by the government as national check your boobs day. '

'Which is great, don't just check your boobs once a year, that's daft, once a moment, every two weeks,  it's really up to you, It's about your normal though. some people do have lumpy boobies,' Lorraine replied. 

She added: 'It's whatever suits you, for me I do it once a month, but my husband checks my boobies quite regularly.'

A shocked Coleen gasped and said to the live audience: 'She's just showing off!' 

Lorraine replied: 'He knows them better than me, Coleen. He knows... everything.'

Coleen asked: 'Oh is he good at that? I might pop round!' 

An intrigued Mariella asked: 'Is it part of foreplay or just checking?'

Lorraine answered: 'Sometimes it can be... He's very selfless.' 

A shocked Kaye said: I've never heard you speak like this before!'

Keen to highlight the importance of the conversation, Lorraine told her: 'Anything that gets the message across! Anything at all.'
