A treasure hunt hidden in my blog

I hid a treasure hunt in my personal site. It's sitting in plain sight on almost every page, and it ends in a firelit room.
Bright letters scattered through six years of posts, a lock made of embers, and the whole thing runs with (almost) no JavaScript. The only JS is for state, so pages keep track of your progress as you go.
The first ones through have already claimed their seats on the wall of solvers. The announcement post has hints, and full spoilers behind a blur, if you'd rather walk than hunt.
