Singapore fans were treated to an evening of heartfelt melodies, nostalgic sounds and captivating performances on 13 August 2026, as South Korean indie rock band JANNABI brought their 1st Asia Tour : Sweat & Stardust to Capitol Theatre for their first-ever Asia tour since debuting in 2014.

Led by frontman Choi Jung-hoon alongside Kim Do-hyung, JANNABI has established a distinctive presence in Korea’s indie music scene through their retro-inspired sound, poetic lyricism and deeply sentimental storytelling. Blending a 1970s-inspired musical style with dreamy, fairy-tale-like melodies, the band’s music has resonated with audiences through its warmth and emotional depth.

The concert opened with “TOGETHER!”, JANNABI’s warm and nostalgic OST from the Disney+ original series Moving (2023). The gentle indie-rock track immediately set the mood for the evening, filling the historic Capitol Theatre with the band’s signature sound and drawing the audience into their musical world.

From the very beginning, JANNABI created an atmosphere that felt almost dreamlike, allowing fans to become immersed in the stories woven throughout their music.

A Journey Through Their DiscographyThe setlist travelled across JANNABI’s musical journey, featuring songs from throughout their discography, including tracks dating back to their early debut years. The band moved effortlessly between energetic performances and softer, more melodic moments, showcasing the range of their musical style.

Among the biggest highlights was the fan-favourite “for lovers who hesitate.” Known for its cinematic sound and poetic lyrics, the song brought a wave of nostalgia through the theatre as fans sang along to one of JANNABI’s most beloved tracks.

The band’s ability to blend retro sounds with emotionally resonant storytelling was evident throughout the concert, with each song carrying its own distinct mood while contributing to the larger world created by their music.

A Special Singapore MomentJANNABI also prepared a special treat for their Singapore audience with their rendition of “Home,” the beloved National Day song originally performed by Kit Chan.

With Singapore’s National Day having taken place just a few days earlier, the performance served as a fitting celebration of the occasion, with the entire theatre joining in to sing along. Singapore fans enthusiastically joined in, turning the performance into a memorable singalong that brought the band and audience even closer together.

Later in the concert, JANNABI made the moment even more special by bringing out a Singapore flag with “Singapore” written across it. The gesture drew loud cheers from the audience, with the band also expressing their desire to return to Singapore again in the future.

From Energetic to Emotional

Throughout the evening, JANNABI continued to shift between lively, energetic numbers and more intimate melodic performances, with the contrast allowing the band’s versatility to shine.

Whether the audience was singing along to familiar favourites or quietly taking in the more sentimental performances, the concert maintained a sense of intimacy with JANNABI that night.

A Night in JANNABI’s World

More than simply a showcase of their music, JANNABI 1st Asia Tour : Sweat & Stardust offered Singapore fans the opportunity to step into the band’s distinctive musical universe.

Their first-ever Asia tour since debuting in 2014 made the Singapore stop particularly meaningful, bringing together longtime fans familiar with their extensive discography and newer listeners discovering the band’s music.

As JANNABI continues their 1st Asia Tour : Sweat & Stardust, we wish Choi Jung-hoon, Kim Do-hyung and the band all the very best for the remaining stops. After leaving Singapore with a promise to return, fans will surely be looking forward to the next chapter of JANNABI’s journey.
