Jason Manford has been forced to cancel a gig due to the extreme weather conditions of Storm Amy, just hours before taking to the stage.

The comedian, 44, was due to perform his A Manford All Seasons show in Belfast on Friday night before it was announced that the plane he was on could not land and had to be re-routed.

In a statement shared to his Instagram, a post read: 'Due to extreme weather conditions caused by Storm Amy, the British Airways plane that Jason Manford was flying on this afternoon could not land in Belfast and was rerouted to Manchester. This unfortunately means that Jason's show tonight has been cancelled.

'Please hold onto your tickets and you will be contacted next week with the date for the rescheduled show.

'On behalf of Jason, we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.'

Just three hours earlier, The Waterloo Road star had taken to his social media where he described a 'Final Destination' moment as a passenger demanded to be let off the aircraft before it took off from London City Airport.

Jason Manford has been forced to cancel a gig due to the extreme weather conditions of Storm Amy, just hours before taking to the stage

The comedian, 44, was due to perform his A Manford All Seasons show in Belfast on Friday night before it was announced the plane he was on could not land and had to be re-routed

He posted: 'On a very delayed flight to and just after the safety demo, a woman has told the crew she wants to get off! We're literally about to taxi and take off, and she just doesn't fancy it!

'I've seen too much Final Destination to not take this seriously!'

He then shared a video of the pilot addressing the passengers telling them: 'The weather’s not the greatest, but it is perfectly workable for us to get into Belfast at the moment.

'I can't say exactly what it’s gonna be like in the process of landing the aircraft because it’s blustery and dusty and it is quite changeable at the moment.

'But I’m prepared to go, and believe you me I’m not going anywhere that I don’t think I’m gonna be able to fly to.'

However, just a short while later, it seemed that the weather had turned from bad to worse, as the flight route could no longer continue and had to divert to Manchester.

Jason then uploaded a video of the pilot landing the plane in terrible windy conditions and wrote: 'Not gonna lie! That was scary! After those women got off too! Premonition.

'Anyway, really sorry weather has scuppered our show tonight, will be back as soon as possible! Thanks for understanding and all lovely messages.'

A representatives for Jason told The Daily Mail: 'All ticket holders will be contacted next week regarding the new date.'

In a statement shared to his Instagram, the comedian let his fans know that he wouldn't be able to attend the venue but reassured the that the show would be rescheduled

Despite the pilot letting passengers know the conditions were 'perfectly workable', it seemed the weather changed as the route diverted with Jason describing the situation as 'scary'

Earlier this year the funnyman posted a message on his local Facebook community group looking for the person who pranged his car.

A hand-written note was left on his vehicle by an eyewitness, who claimed to have seen a 'black or blue Tesla' hit his front bumper at 11.23am.

However, they did not leave any contact details, and did not reveal if they, or another motorist, was the culprit of the crash.

So in a bid to find out their identity, father-of-six attached a picture of the note on the, We Love Bramhall community Facebook page.

The note reads: 'A black/blue Tesla hit your from bumper 11:23AM. Hope this helps!'

He also added the caption: 'Thanks to the person who wrote this note today in Bramhall Precinct Car Park.

'I don't want to put this person in our group, or even worse, on my own social media pages.

'So if anyone knows who it is, or it's you, can you please get in touch and pay for the damage you caused.'

Daily Mail approached Jason's representatives for comment at the time.
