Their photos may look glamorous, but it turns out influencers are a pretty awkward bunch when you actually encounter them in the wild.

Married At First Sight star Tamara Joy proved as much on Tuesday when she shared two photos to Instagram while dining at a beachside restaurant on the Gold Coast.

The 32-year-old brunette posed in a short black dress at local hotspot Burleigh Pavilion - but the photos included some rather puzzling details.

She offered a sultry gaze in the first image, and stuck out her tongue and winked in the second.

However, fans' eyes were drawn to the other diners in the background of the photo, who were looking quizzically at Tamara as she posed for the snaps.

One woman smiled awkwardly at the camera while another covered her mouth, presumably trying not to laugh.

A young man on the same table, who was facing away from the camera, seemed to hunch over in a bid not to be recognised.

Meanwhile, a man on the table closest to Tamara nonchalantly rested his head in one hand, and his bored facial expression couldn't have been more different to hers.

These weren't the only awkward details in the photos, as the reality star's own pose looked slightly odd upon closer inspection.

She twisted her body to make her waist look thinner, and conspicuously turned her left arm to reveal a tattoo on her inner forearm.

Tamara also didn't appear to even be sitting at a table, as she had moved her seat to get a better view of the ocean behind her.

The socialite heavily airbrushed her features, too.

Her use of the editing tool was made glaringly obvious because the faces of the other diners were unairbrushed.

Tamara moved from Melbourne to the Gold Coast in October.

At the time, she said she'd 'turned her back' on the coronavirus-stricken city and was hoping for 'bigger and better things' in the Sunshine State. 

She appeared on the 2019 season of Married At First Sight alongside 'husband' Dan Webb, who ended up cheating on her with Jessika Power.
