Married At First Sight star Patrick Dwyer has announced he is having a break from social media after footage of his ex Belinda Vickers getting flirty with another groom went viral.

'Getting off Instagram and won't be back for a long time,' the 28-year-old personal trainer wrote on his Stories on Sunday night. 

He added: 'Thanks to everyone for the support over the last year.'

While Patrick didn't explain his decision for taking a break, it comes after a video of MAFS alum Nick Furphy getting flirty with Belinda went viral on Instagram.

On Friday night, Nick shared a clip of himself putting his arm around Belinda, 30, before giving her a friendly kiss on the head.

Belinda could be seen smiling before she shyly walked away from the frame.

Belinda quickly shut down suggestions the two were romantically linked, telling Daily Mail Australia 'Nick is a stirrer' just trying to cause trouble.

She and Patrick confirmed their split in July, after the pair unfollowed each other on Instagram.

'We would like to address the rumours of our split and confirm we have gone our separate ways,' Patrick said at the time.

'We have enjoyed a relationship together for over nine months; however, we do not want the same things in love and life,' the F45 trainer continued.

'We appreciate all the love and support we have received through our journey.' 

Saleswoman Belinda shared an identical statement on her own Instagram account.

The last time the couple were seen together on Patrick's social media was on June 9, in photos and videos showing them having a stroll in a park.
