Anderson .Paak and Cordae go way back. The two artists first linked on “RNP,” from Cordae’s 2019 debut The Lost Boy, and have remained frequent collaborators. Now they’ve joined forces once again—this time for a whole album. Heavy Is the Crown drops October 23 via Apeshit/Mass Appeal/Empire. Below, check out the project’s cover art, apparently inspired by, of all things, the 2008 Will Ferrell / John C. Reilly comedy Step Brothers.

Cordae’s last album, The Crossroads, came out in 2024. Paak. apparently takes no days off, and so in that same span of time he has put out a second NxWorries record; opened for his Silk Sonic bandmate Bruno Mars on tour; and appeared on songs by Fred Again.., Amber Mark, Summer Walker, and Disclosure.
