Woman, 31, on-foot killed in hit-and-run crash on SR-76 in Oceanside

A 31-year-old woman from Hemet died on state Route 76 late Sunday after being struck by at least two vehicles that took off from the scene, according to Oceanside police.
The deceased woman was identified on Monday as Naidy Cruz, OPD said. Cruz died at the scene. Police added that Cruz was not homeless.
The crash happened in eastbound lanes between Guajome Lake Road and Melrose Drive at about 9:45 p.m. Cruz was in the middle of the road when she was struck, Oceanside police said.
The drivers took off from the scene, OPD said. No suspect or vehicle descriptions have been made available.
“We are seeking witnesses and at least two vehicles that ran her over,” ODP Public Information Officer Gina Avalos said.
Anyone with information on the crash was urged to call OPD at (760) 435-4651.
The area between Guajome Lake Road and Melrose Drive was closed into the Monday-morning hours for the investigation.
