Celeste Barber has revealed that she had a frank response to her 12-year-old son when he and his friends discovered her online content. 

The comedian, who often appears on Instagram scantily clad while spoofing celebrities, says her oldest, Lou, found the posts confronting. 

'I said to him, "OK, how do you feel about that?" And he said, "I just don't understand why you have to be naked",' the 48-year-old tells this week's issue of Stellar. 

'And my response was, "First of all, I am not naked. I am never naked. And second of all, you'll be fine. Don't worry about it",' she continued. 

'Tell them it's not for you or your friends. It's just for fun,' she added. 

'And if that's coming up on their algorithm, then they're probably looking at other women, so it shouldn't bother them to look at a body like this, as well.'

The actress has two sons, Lou and Buddy, with her husband, Api Robin, who she married in 2013.

Celeste playfully calls her handsome spouse 'Māori Adonis' and recently admitted in a blog post she married a man who is 'universally hotter' than her.

'It's harder to live with than I originally thought,' the brunette funny woman joked.

'Now, don't get me wrong, I'm no dropped pie, but there isn't a 'hot wifey' hashtag hanging around my neck,' she added. 

Celeste met Api 17 years ago when he rocked long dreadlocks, and she joked that in the early stages of their romance she'd already determined their roles in the relationship. 

'I'm hilarious. You're breathtaking. I believe this is something that needs to take place in any relationship when the roles are so obvious,' she said.

She said that it was love at first sight, sweetly writing: 'If I met him on Kiss Bang Love, I would have kissed him blindfolded and married him on the spot.

'He's kind, smart, caring and very, VERY patient. He's a fun dad and has really thrown his back into tolerating me. I love him with all the wine in the fridge.'
