For a number of years the European Union has been debating the completion of its banking union project, which started in the midst of financial turmoil in 2012. The European Commission recently opened a public consultation on the legal framework for bank crisis management and deposit insurance, a key piece of unfinished work. This session will take stock on the prospects for meaningful reform.
