RABAT, August 21. /TASS/. Iran’s Navy is present in the Strait of Hormuz and other Gulf straits and will defend them against any enemy attacks, Iranian Navy commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani said.

"The Navy has a strong presence in the straits and strategically important waterways in the Gulf," he said, as cited by the Al Mayadeen television channel.

The Iranian Navy "continues to defend Iran’s national interests and security in the Gulf," he stressed, adding that the Navy "is fighting the enemies with all its might and will not let them get close."
