The race leader has been shown a black and white flag for exceeding track limits.

If he does it again, he'll be handed a five-second penatly.

Red Bull remind him he leads Hamilton by 18 seconds and tell the driver 'no risks needed'.

They impressed in qualifying, but Mcareln have had a poor race today.

Norris is down in 18th after being forced into an early pit and Piastri is 13th.

Zhou is not happy as Tsunoda doesn't give him a lot of room as he overtakes.

He rages down the radio, but it looked a reasonable move.

The Red Bull sets a fastest lap of the race and moves into fourth place.

He's closing in on Russell, with the gap currently around eight seconds.

Bit of an incident as Ocon tries to defend very late against Alonso.

Th Aston martin makes it past anyway but he won't be happy with that.

Both Hamilton and Perez come in as they look to target the final two podium spots.

Hamilton comes out without losing a place, while Russell goes third.

The Mercedes goes fastest on new soft tires but remains in fourth place behind Perez.

It should be a fascinating battle for third place.

Norris is up to 15th but has had a disappointing race.

Sainz comes out on hard tires but loses a couple of places and comes out in sixth.

It allows Perez to move into fourth place after starting down in 11th.

Verstappen says his tires feel 'not amazing' but well give them a few more laps.

The Ferrari has come slowly but surely through the pack after starting way down in 19th place.

Verstappen is now half a lap ahead of fifth place.

The Red Bull now leads Hamilton by over 15 seconds and looks untouchable in this race.

Alonso had enjoyed a quietly impressive race and is up to sixth.

Norris has struggled to recover after his early knock and is still only 18th. He has now been lapped by Verstappen.

The Mercedes driver has enjoyed an excellent race after struggling in qualifying yesterday.

He moves past Sainz into third, with Mercedes on course for a two-three finish.

The Mercedes driver's weather skills prove flawed, as the rain he detected earlier turns out to be swear from his helmet.

We have rain, says the Mercedes driver.

Toto Wolff holds his hand out by the pitts to check his prognosis.

He is up to fourth after pitting and has just set a fastest lap, with Hamilton in second but 12 seconds behind Verstappen

The Mercedes pits well and comes out in fifth place behind Sainz.

Russell then also changes tires and comes out in sixth place.

Leclerc overtakes De Vries into 14th.

The Alpine is coming trough the pack nicely and is up to 14th after setting the fastest lap.

Verstappen is now almost 12 seconds ahead of Hamilton, who will pit now.

The local boy continues his strong race as he moves into sixth.

Russell says on the radio he's happy on the current tires, as he stays third behind his teammate Hamilton.

Verstappen remains a long way ahead but his lead isn't increasing as it was a few laps ago.

The Ferrari comes out ahead of Stroll on new medium tires.

Hamilton will stay out for now with a 20 second lead over the Ferrari, while Leclerc also takes an early pit.

The McLaren has been unable to recover from his horror start and remains las.

Tsunoda is 14th, but looks fast and could be a problem for the other cars in the middle of the pack.

Hamilton is up to second as Sainz pits, with Verstappen's lead now approaching eight seconds.

That's seven places taken now by Russell as he goes past Ocon with a classy overtake.

Verstappen's lead is now well over five seconds.

The Mercedes moves past his fellow Englishman into the podium places.

He has an excellent record on this track, but Verstappen is already four seconds clear now and has just set the fastest lap.

Perez is up to ninth after moving nicely past the Haas, who remains 10th.

Russell moves past Alonso into sixth, while Verstappen is already three seconds clear of Sainz in first place.

An ominous start for the Red Bull.

The Mercedes has got off to a promising start and is already up to seventh.

He did leave the track but had little choice and looks unlikely to be penalized.

Norris has sit the fastest lap but remains last after being forced to pit.

Norris is out of the pits but comes back slowly after a slight issue restarting.

Stroll has started brilliantly after getting past Hamilton and is up to third.

There's a slight collision between Hamilton and Norris, while Russell left the track.

Norris has damage to his front wing and will need to pit already, a nightmare start to him.

Sainz pushed Verstappen hard at the start but the Red Bull stays ahead.

Both the Spanish and Catalonian national anthems are played in Barcelona ahead of the race.

We then have Freddie Mercury's Barcelona over the speakers, another anthem of sorts.

It will be a big Grand Prix for Spaniards Sainz and Alonso, who start in second and eighth respectively.

We're closing in on lights out in Barcelona.

It's a lot sunnier than yesterday and the grid is packed as we approach the start.

Even Martin Brundle is struggling to barge his way through.

The Mercedes locks up and goes into the gravel during the formation lap.

It's not clear how much damage that will have done to the underside of the car, but Russell seems to be struggling in this new and upgraded Mercedes.

Aymeric Laporte is in the house in Barcelona just a day after making a substitute appearance for Man City in their FA Cup fina win.

He is joined by Kylian Mbappe and Sergio Busquets, with Chelsea duo Joao Felix and Reece James also in attendance.

Gasly, who qualified in fourth, has been given two three-place penalties for impeding Sainz and Verstappen.

It means Hamilton moves up from fifth to replace him.

Sargeant and Leclerc will both start from the pit lane.

Charles Leclerc disappointed in qualifying as he went out in Q1 and will start 19th.

His Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz will start alongside Max Verstappen on the front line, while Lewis Hamilton is fifth.

There was a dangerous incident between Hamilton and his teammate George Russell, who later apologised.
