Life can be tough and more than a bit stressful at times, so you really do deserve to treat yourself to a luxurious solo escape. Of course, Abu Dhabi is perfect for such an independent escapade, even if you have just two days to spare (that said, you should definitely stay longer!).
Find Your Ideal Base
To make life easier, choose accommodation in the CBD near the Corniche, which will be perfect for exploring. Consider options like Oaks Liwa Executive Suites Abu Dhabi, which offers spacious and luxurious suites with a satellite TV, kitchenette and work desk (just in case those pesky work emails find you!). Free Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool, gym, sauna and an on-site restaurant are essentials, while having access to a tour desk will definitely be helpful, too.
Day One
Begin the day by heading out from one of the hotel apartments in Abu Dhabi to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque; modest attire is a must, and the free guided tour will make the visit even more meaningful. Later, visit the Louvre Abu Dhabi, a great place to wander around as you take in stunning works of art. As the day draws to a close, make your way to the Corniche for a stroll along the beach or promenade before settling in at a nearby restaurant for dinner with a view.
Day Two
If you are in the mood for something relaxing, tee off at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club before popping into Abu Dhabi Mall for a little retail therapy. Not into golf? Just enjoy a full-blown, all-day shopping spree instead. Alternatively, head to Yas Island, where you will have to choose which attractions to enjoy (and sadly, what to miss); there’s Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, SeaWorld, Yas Waterworld, Yas Mall, Yas Beach and the Yas Marina Circuit… this is why you need to spend more than two days in Abu Dhabi!

Things to Keep in Mind
Ensure you bring breathable, modest attire that covers shoulders, arms and legs; women should bring a headscarf for mosque visits, too. Don’t forget effective sunblock, sunglasses, a hat and a reusable water bottle. Download the Abu Dhabi map offline on Google Maps to save data. For getting around, pick up a Hafilat Card for public transport and use ride-hailing apps like Careem or Uber for taxis.
