The Timex Weekender New England chronographs are two of the most expensive Weekender line watches. As of August 6, Timex has added two leather-strap references to its Weekender New England Chronograph line at $189 each. The TW2Y85000 has a cream dial and the TW2Y85200 black, both in 40 mm steel with mineral crystal, 50 m water resistance and quick-release straps.
At first glance, Timex's newest Weekender chronographs look like strap variants of an existing watch. However, they aren't quite. The two leather references joining the Weekender New England Chronograph line were unveiled around August 6, and they replace the bold Arabic numeral at 12 that the fabric-strap versions carry with a full set of stick markers.
The TW2Y85000 has a cream dial with a tan leather strap, and the TW2Y85200 a black dial with dark brown. Both are $189.
For reference, a standard 40 mm Weekender on leather is nearly $85, the fabric version is $119, the 34 mm New England $139 to $149, and the fabric-strap chronograph $159. The leather chronograph is priced at $30 above that, and more than twice the base watch.
The case is 40 mm, and made of brushed and polished stainless-steel. It's 11.5 mm thick with a 48.5 mm lug-to-lug span. The crystal is mineral, and luminous fill covers the hands but not the markers. A quartz analog movement runs on a replaceable SR920SW cell.
Three sub-dials take up most of the dial: a 30-minute elapsed counter, a 24-hour indicator, and running seconds at six o'clock. Two pushers flank the crown on the right side. Water resistance is 50 meters, and Timex specifies that the pushers should not be operated underwater.
The strap is 20 mm brown leather with contrast side stitching and a standard buckle. Plus, you get quick-release spring bars so it can be changed without tools. Timex quotes a fit range of 5.9 to 8.1 inches.
Both references are listed as available on Timex's US store. Alternatively, you can check out the Timex Marlin TW2W10300VQ on Amazon.

Most of my time goes into writing - and somehow it hasn’t stopped being fun yet. My work mainly revolves around everyday tech, gaming, watches, DIY modding, and the occasional piece on tech-policy chaos when companies and governments clash. I try to keep things simple and honest, without sounding like a product brochure. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering and an Associate Degree in English Studies from the College of New Caledonia in British Columbia, Canada. Away from articles and deadlines, life usually shifts to making music, taking photos, or trying to finish games that should have been completed months ago.
