Gold doesn’t just appear in a merchant’s purse; it’s forged, brewed, smuggled, and bartered into existence. Today, Ashborne Games invites players to step into the workshops, marketplaces, and mining pits of The Guild – Europa 1410 with a brand-new developer diary exploring the game’s  production chains, and the fortunes (or ruin) that come with them.

From humble raw materials hauled in creaking carts to the refined goods that can win political favour or end a rival’s career, this dev diary pulls back the curtain on one of the game’s most vital systems: the economy that binds every dynasty’s fate.

Take the Smith’s craft, for example: buy Iron and Silver Ingots from the market or a mine, forge the Iron into sturdy fittings, and combine them with the silver to get a gleaming Silver Chain. Far more than a trade good, this piece of jewellery can be worn to boost the opinion of the Town Council or the Church Authorities in your favour. In The Guild – Europa 1410, influence is often just a few clever crafting steps away. Beyond creating goods to sell and boost your income, many end products come with a direct use, so choosing wisely how and when to deploy them can be just as important as making them.

Dive into the full dev diary to uncover:

  • How Smiths, Alchemists, and other professions source their materials and how they create the interesting stuff
  • Why an innocent-looking intermediate product might hide a far more dangerous purpose
  • The fine line between a passive income stream and a very costly gamble
  • How a single cart of goods, and who’s guarding it, can make or break your ambitions

But beware: not every item is legal, not every trade route is safe, and not every fortune lasts. Flood the market with your own goods, and you might drive prices down yourself, turning a promising profit into a painful loss. The full story of raw materials, crafted goods, and the razor’s edge of supply and demand awaits in the complete dev diary.
