The sudden death of actor Hayden Panettiere has sparked an outpouring of grief among fans who grew up watching her in everything from Remember the Titans and Ice Princess to Heroes and Nashville. Her death feels especially heartbreaking given just how much of her life unfolded in the public eye, including the personal struggles she candidly opened up about in recent years.
Unfortunately, she's far from the only beloved celebrity whose story took a sad or unexpected turn that few could have imagined at the height of their fame. Recently, Reddit user u/Dependent-Bill197 asked people to share the celebrity "falls" they found particularly heartbreaking. The responses range from untimely deaths and personal struggles to shocking controversies that caused careers to come crashing down. After stepping away from acting, she experienced a highly publicized period involving substance use, legal trouble, and mental health struggles. In 2013, she was placed under a conservatorship controlled by her mother, which remained in place for nearly nine years before a judge terminated it in 2022, finding it no longer necessary.

Following the accusations, Rose issued a statement apologizing for his "inappropriate behavior" and stating that he was "greatly embarrassed," although he said he believed some of the interactions mentioned in the report were consensual.

Gaiman has strongly denied engaging in any nonconsensual sexual activity. In a statement responding to the allegations, he said he had “never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with anyone,” while acknowledging that, looking back on some of his relationships, he had been “emotionally unavailable while being sexually available” and could have behaved better.

Authorities determined that he died from accidental blunt head trauma, likely after an unwitnessed fall.

Cameron Boyce became a Disney Channel star as a child, appearing in Jessie and the Descendants films after earlier roles in movies including Grown Ups. In 2019, he died suddenly in his sleep at only 20 years old after suffering a seizure. His family later revealed that Boyce had epilepsy, and the coroner determined that his death resulted from sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP).
