The Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) was recently included as one of several U.S. entities on the countermeasures list announced by China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).
The RBA takes this matter very seriously and continues to assess the decision and its implications while supporting its members’ due diligence efforts throughout their global supply chains and remaining in full compliance with these measures. As part of this, we remain in active communication with our member companies on navigating the impacts of this development.
China’s countermeasures apply to entities and individuals operating within China; the RBA’s operations outside of China are not affected.
The RBA is an independent, global industry coalition dedicated to advancing responsible business conduct and protecting the rights and well-being of workers in global supply chains. RBA programs and standards help tens of thousands of companies, including companies and suppliers in China, demonstrate responsible business practices, meet customer expectations and participate in international markets.
RBA standards and practices are grounded in internationally recognized labor and environmental principles and are applied consistently across global markets.
The RBA remains committed to working with its members, governments, civil society and other stakeholders to promote internationally recognized labor standards and responsible supply-chain practices around the world.
