Labor Minister Hassan Raddad said on Sunday, August 30, 2026, that the ministry is working to remove obstacles and empower young people to enter the labor market, stressing that training is a top priority aimed at enhancing the skills of Egyptian workers and preparing them for employment in Arab and European markets.

In statements to the Nile News Channel, Raddad said the state is keen to empower Egyptian workers and provide them with the highest level of training in line with labor market needs. He added that the state has achieved major progress, most notably in reducing the unemployment rate, which stood at more than 13 percent in 2013-2014, compared with about eight percent today.

Turning to investment incentives, he added that the state has also introduced a package of measures to support investors and facilitate the resolution of any obstacles they may face, noting that a committee has been established at the ministry’s headquarters to provide support to investors.

Asked about the launch of general rules governing labor regulations in private-sector companies, Raddad said the new rules are part of the government’s program to promote greater stability in the work environment, encourage investment and enhance workers’ job security through unified labor regulations for both small and large establishments.

The labor minister added that establishments employing 10 or more workers are required to issue labor regulations and have them approved by labor offices, while establishments with fewer than 10 workers may adopt simplified regulations covering working hours and weekly rest periods.
