Following the announcement at I/O 2026, Google is rolling out Gmail Live, Docs Live, and Keep Live this week. After testing in recent months, these voice capabilities are now generally available.

Gmail Live lets you talk to your inbox. Instead of manually searching for information and reading through threads, Gemini lets you have a “natural, spoken conversation with your inbox to pull precise information.”

You can ask follow-up questions without repeating the context, and Gmail Live can be interrupted at any time to switch topics without starting a new session. The fullscreen interface shows a transcript and links to the source emails. To launch, tap the new Live icon in the Gmail search bar.

Gmail Live is available with Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra on Android and iOS in English worldwide.

Google positions Docs Live as a “hands-free thought partner and co-writer” that helps you quickly create a first draft for summaries, proposals, and more. Gemini can draw from information in your Gmail, Drive, Chat, and the web. 

It will show a recap of the information before proceeding to generate the document. You can ask Docs Live to add specific information and format as needed. In the Google Docs app, tapping the FAB (floating action button) reveals a new “Create with voice” option to launch the experience.

Docs Live is available with AI Pro and Ultra on Android and iOS.

Finally, Keep Live listens to “audio brain dumps and processes them” to generate notes and lists. Gemini “understands your stream of consciousness,” with Google Keep showing an inline preview of what it generated after a few seconds. 

You can tell Google Keep to put “ingredients for pesto pasta” in your shopping list, and “Gemini understands your intent and reflects it in the note.” Multiple notes can be generated in the same session, while you can use your voice to edit, like telling Keep Live to check off items.

Additionally, Keep Live isn’t limited to new notes and can add information to existing ones:

For example, if you already have a grocery list and you tell it you need to remember to get bananas, Keep will just add bananas to your existing list.

Keep Live is available on Android and requires AI Plus (updated), Pro, and Ultra. These three features are “coming soon” to Google Workspace business customers.
