Josie Duncan scored the go-ahead goal directly off a corner kick in the 53rd minute, lifting Scarborough to a 2-1 win over Windham in a Class A South girls soccer showdown Tuesday night in Windham.

Scarborough (4-0), the four-time defending regional champion and the No. 1 team in the Varsity Maine poll, took a 1-0 lead midway through the first half on a goal by Maggie Booth.

Windham (3-1), ranked No. 4 in the Varsity Maine poll, tied it later in the first half when Emily Wardwell converted a penalty kick.

Scarborough keeper Vera DiSotto made two saves, while Windham’s Jennifer Schwarz stopped two shots.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 4, WAYNFLETE 0: Cappy Daniel scored in each half and set up a goal by Delphine Daniel as the Panthers (4-1) defeated the Flyers (0-3) in Yarmouth.

NYA led 2-0 at halftime on unassisted goals by Ellie Seely and Cappy Daniel. Delphine Daniel converted a cross from her sister in the second half, and Seely assisted on Cappy Daniel’s second goal.

Caroline Pond turned aside three shots to record the shutout. Waynflete’s Rachel Yordon made 10 saves.

POLAND 4, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 0: Addi Gravel scored two first-half goals to lead the Knights (5-0-1) past the Seagulls (2-2) in Poland.

Leksi Langevin also scored in the first half, then added another in the second half.

Payton Rose, Julia Paradis and Graceyn Camire each recorded assist.

THORNTON ACADEMY 3, PORTLAND 0: The Golden Trojans (1-2-1) got goals from Malia Collins, Julia Collins and Addie Gould in a win over the Bulldogs (1-3-1) in Portland.

Charlotte Beane assisted on one of the goals.

DEERING 4, MARSHWOOD 3: Matilda Freeman scored four straight goals, and the Rams (3-1) held off a comeback bid by the Hawks (2-1-1) in Portland.

Sydney Leveille struck for Marshwood less than a minute into the match, but Freeman answered with three goals before the first half was over, then added another goal early in the second half.

Back-to-back goals by Isabelle Tice cut the lead to 4-3, but Deering held on from there.

Natalie Cameron assisted on three of Freeman’s goals.

CAPE ELIZABETH 7, FREEPORT 0: Addie Miller scored three times and the Capers (3-1) earned a victory over the Falcons (2-1) in Cape Elizabeth.

Alexa Mallory, Alice DeGeorge, Azara Govind and Avery Leonhirt also scored. One of Kelsie Law’s five saves for the Capers was a penalty kick.

Karleigh Costello made 10 saves for Freeport.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 3, OCEANSIDE 1: Summer Staples scored to go-ahead goal 14 minutes into the second half, then set up an insurance goal by Grace Townsend as the Panthers (1-3) defeated the Mariners (0-4) in Waldoboro.

Medomak’s Alex Fullerton tied the game late in the first half, knocking in a rebound for her first career goal.

Marlena Gorman of Oceanside opened the scoring, assisted by Lorelei Parent.

Medomak keeper Lilly Hills finished with 10 saves. Oceanside’s Abby Stackpole made seven saves.

LINCOLN ACADEMY 1, MORSE 0: Mats Walther’s goal off a pass from Frido Kuehn in the eighth minute stood up as the Eagles (2-2) blanked the Shipbuilders (1-2) in Bath.

LAKE REGION 4, SACOPEE VALLEY 2: Parker Richardson scored four times and Dylan Blair had three assists to lead the Lakers (2-2) past the Hawks (1-1-1) in Naples.

Justen McCubrey made 17 saves for Lake Region.

Cooper Berkowitz scored twice for Sacopee Valley.

KENNEBUNK 2, SANFORD 1: Tyler Godsoe scored the tiebreaking goal 16 minutes into the match, and the Rams (3-1) beat the Spartans (0-4) in Kennebunk.

Sanford’s Logan Gosling scored in the fourth minute. Chris Thompson tied it two minutes later.

Elijah Bowden made three saves for Sanford, while Marshwood’s Griffin Whitney stopped four shots.

CHEVERUS 7, GORHAM 0: Sydney Brunelle scored twice and added three assists to lead the Stags (4-0) past the Rams (2-2) in Portland.

Brooke Brunelle chipped in with two goals, while Jaylee Radford had a goal and an assist. Avery Tinker also scored, and Bronwyn Roberts made five saves for the shutout.

Cheverus, the unanimous No. 1 team in the Varsity Maine poll, extended its winning streak to 21 games and its unbeaten streak to 58 games.

Gorham’s Eva Wandell made 15 saves.

MARSHWOOD 7, MASSABESIC 1: Hazel Stout scored five times as the Hawks (4-0) beat the Mustangs (1-3) in South Berwick.

May Dulac and Meghan Quirk also scored for Marshwood.

WINSLOW 12, OCEANSIDE 0: Bostyn Knight recorded three goals and an assist, and the Black Raiders (2-2) cruised past the Mariners (0-4) in Winslow.

Adriana Lombardi, Delana Ferran and Brinlyn O’Toole each added two goals. Emma Fales, Kayla Fales and Ava Fortuna were the other goal scorers.

BIDDEFORD 6, FALMOUTH 1: Mia Mariello collected three goals, Addie Barrs scored twice and Rachel Lagasse added a goal and three assists as the Tigers (2-0) cruised past the Navigators (2-2) in Falmouth.

Emily Hussey chipped in with two assists.

Siobhan Nielsen scored for Falmouth, assisted by Lauren Hanson.

NOBLE 7, DEERING/PORTLAND 0: Tenley Orlando scored three goals, Anna Dupuis had two goals and an assist, and the Knights (4-1) beat the Rams (0-5) in Portland.

Ella Dupuis added a goal and two assists, and Mia Smith contributed a goal and an assist. Leah Randall also was credited with an assist.

MARSHWOOD 3, SANFORD 0: Briley Matlock led the Hawks with 11 kills and four blocks as they swept the Spartans (1-1) in South Berwick, winning each set 25-21.

Hannah Tuttle contributed 11 digs, Keira Keaveny had four aces, and freshman setter Taylor Airey recorded 27 assists.

PORTLAND 3, WESTBROOK 2: Asanti Bendasta recorded three aces and 18 kills to lead the Bulldogs (1-3) to a comeback win over the Blue Blazes (1-2).

Portland lost the first two sets before winning the last three. The set scores were 18-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-23, 15-11.

Soleil Alaari helped the comeback with three aces and six kills. Millie Rich added four aces.
