MOSCOW, September 23. /TASS/. Russia’s share in global coal exports is expected to rise from 13% in 2024 to 27% by 2050 under the target scenario, according to the revised program for the coal sector's development through 2050 greenlighted by the government.

The contribution of the coal industry to Russia’s GDP in nominal prices may total 3.6 trillion rubles ($42.7 bln) by 2050 under this scenario compared to 614.2 bln rubles in 2024, according to the document. Tax revenues to the consolidated budget and insurance funds in the sector are projected at 853 bln rubles ($10 bln).

Specific air pollutant emissions will drop from 2.8 to 1.5 kg per ton of output. Average monthly labor efficiency in core activities will rise from 257 tons per person in 2024 to 551 tons by 2050.
