Five people were shot – including two teens – in a burst of gun violence that turned deadly in the Big Apple late Sunday, cops said. 

The youngest victim was a 17-year-old boy who took a bullet to the chest around 9:15 p.m. behind a NYCHA building on Beach 40th Street near Beach Channel Drive in Far Rockaway, police said. 

He was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition. 

The gunfire stemmed from a dispute, but the teen appeared to not have known the shooter, according to law enforcement sources.

Around the same time in the Bronx, another teen was hit when someone opened fire with a rifle, cops said. 

The 18-year-old victim was shot in his back at East 175th Street and Bathgate Avenue in Tremont, authorities said. 

He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. 

Two suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, and a rifle was recovered at the scene, police said.

One man was killed during the outbreak of overnight violence – 29-year-old Luis Cano, who took a bullet to the chest around 7:50 p.m. on Lafayette Avenue near Hunts Point Avenue, authorities said.

Cano, who lived about a mile away, was taken to Lincoln Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, cops said. 

The motive for the deadly violence was still under investigation Monday, and the male suspect remained at large. 

Two senior citizens were hurt in an earlier drive-by shooting as they played dominoes just blocks from Yankee Stadium, authorities and sources said. 

One of the victims, a 65-year-old man, was blasted in the right leg, and the other man, 72, was struck in the right hand just after 6 p.m. at East 157th Street and Gerard Avenue in Concourse Village, police said. 

The unidentified shooter opened fire in the victims’ direction while driving past them, according to law enforcement sources. 

It was not clear whether either man was the target of the gunfire.

Both victims were taken to Lincoln Medical Center, where they were listed in stable condition. 

No arrests had been made. 

In the 7-day period between Sept. 7 and Sunday, 22 shootings with 28 victims were reported citywide, according to NYPD stats.

Those numbers more than doubled from the comparable week in 2025, when 10 shootings were reported with 11 victims, the data shows. 

The Bronx accounted for 14 of the week’s shooting incidents, or nearly 64 percent, according to the numbers. 

Nineteen of the week’s shooting victims were also in the northernmost borough – 11 in Bronx South and eight in Bronx North, the figures show. 

But year-to-date, shootings are down – with 471 incidents and 573 victims this year, versus 520 incidents with 652 victims in 2025, according to the statistics.
