The possibility of a trilateral meeting between representatives of Russia, the US, and Ukraine was discussed during a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump, but there are no specific details yet, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"As you may recall, this is what we discussed following the phone call between Putin and Trump. That is what we are talking about. Indeed, such a discussion took place. They spoke about the possibility of a meeting in the near future <…>. I cannot provide any further details at this time," the spokesman said.

Putin and Trump spoke by phone on September 8. During the conversation, the Russian president presented Trump with an objective and detailed analysis of the situation in Ukraine, and also spoke positively about US mediation efforts to find ways to settle the Ukrainian conflict.
