What to KnowA FIRST ALERT is in effect from now until Sunday evening for the Jersey Shore as a nor’easter is bringing coastal flooding and gusty winds moves through the region.Friday is dry for the vast majority of the region. Expect increasing clouds as the nor’easter nears our coast. The first raindrops won’t fall on the Jersey Shore until Friday evening. Expect periods of rain, mostly light to moderate in intensity, throughout the weekend. The highest wind gusts will occur Saturday evening into Sunday morning.The worst conditions will be felt along the Jersey Shore with the strongest wind gusts, coastal flooding (which will only be exacerbated by the full moon), high rip current risks, rough surf and significant beach erosion.Conditions will gradually improve by Sunday night into Monday morning as the coastal storm lifts north away from our region.Get the latest weather updates by downloading the NBC10 app and following the NBC10 First Alert Weather team.
