A one-day soy conclave themed “Unlocking the Soy Opportunity: Protein, Food, Trade and Innovation” will be held in Mumbai on September 30. 

Organised by the Soy Food Promotion and Welfare Association (SFPWA) as the SFPWA Soy Conclave 2026, it will bring together senior representatives and stakeholders, including from government, industry, research institutions, processors, food and ingredient companies.

Besides, start-ups, MSMEs, nutrition experts, technology providers, trade bodies and innovation-led enterprises will take part to discuss the future of India’s soy food, plant-based protein and nutrition economy, a SFPWA statement said.

The conclave will focus on key areas, including soy production, food-grade soybean development, climate-resilient supply chains, soybean trade and market opportunities, soy ingredients, processing technologies, product innovation, start-up and MSME opportunities, and the role of soy foods in affordable nutrition.

It will feature guidance from senior industry leaders, including Girish Matlani, Founder Chairman of SFPWA. Various sessions at the conclave will discuss on plant-based protein opportunities, soy nutrition, soy foods for Indian consumers, food-grade soybean quality, processing and traceability.

Domestic and international trade, climate and sustainability concerns, tofu, soy milk, textured vegetable protein, bakery applications, meat alternatives and responsible consumer communication will also figure at the conclave.

Special attention will be given to opportunities for start-ups and MSMEs in soy-based health foods, protein products, snacks, beverages, bakery, nutrition applications and value-added food manufacturing.

The conclave will conclude with a Soy Opportunity Roadmap, highlighting priorities for strengthening India’s soy food, plant-based protein, nutrition, trade and value-added soybean sector.
