PepsiCo will stop covering weight-loss drugs on company health insurance, starting October, due to rising costs, according to Bloomberg, which cited an email the cola major sent to employees. PepsiCo is the latest in a growing line of US-based companies curtailing coverage. An earlier Reuters report said several companies were planning to phase out coverage for weight-loss drugs in employee healthcare insurance plans for 2027, as GLP-1 usage rises. For HR leaders, and CFOs, a GLP-1 strategy has become an important conversation as these medications improve outcomes related to obesity, diabetes and heart health but, at the same time, they are driving up healthcare spends. Indian companies in general are not covering weight-loss drugs at the moment.

Corporate occupiers in the Indian office market are entering a phase of conviction-led growth, says a new survey from CBRE South Asia, which notes that three in four intend to expand their portfolio over the next two years. The commercial real estate firm’s annual study finds that about 30 per cent of respondents plan to grow their office portfolio in India by more than 30 per cent over the next two years. The survey was conducted between April and June 2026. Nearly half of those surveyed plan to expand their real estate footprint by coupling business growth with consolidation strategies. A quarter intend to renew existing leases over the next two years. The Indian office market has shown a strong performance in the last few years, with gross leasing at a record 24.6 million sq ft in Q2 2026, up 18 per cent sequentially and 14 per cent year-on-year.
