Shares of MongoDB fell 14% in premarket trading.
Desai has served as MongoDB’s CEO for less than a year, having taken the role in November from Dev Ittycheria.

MongoDB’s board has appointed Ittycheria as interim president and CEO. It is searching for a permanent CEO and has retained an executive search firm to assist in that process.
