Framework Computer today opened the pre-order process for their updated Framework Desktop featuring the new AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 496 "Gorgon Halo" SoC with 192GB of LPDDR5x-8533 memory.

The current Framework Desktop with AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and 128GB of memory starts out at $3449 USD with today's prices. The Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 with 192GB of RAM is starting out at $6799 USD with the just-announced pre-order pricing. Memory is expensive and Gorgon Halo is sure to be in great demand given the AI/LLM craze.

Going for the pre-built Framework Desktop with AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 and 2TB NVMe storage will cost $7449 USD compared to the DIY edition at $6799.

The Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 is the only Gorgon Halo model currently offered for the Framework Desktop. The Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 features 16 Zen 5 cores boosting up to 5.2GHz, 64MB L3 cache, 55 Watt default TDP and cTDP up to 120 Watts, and the Radeon 8065S Graphics.

Fedora 44 KDE Plasma Edition is the default operating system for this AMD Gorgon Halo desktop.
