Sonuscore have just introduced two new expansion packs for The Pulse, its 'production engine' instrument for modern cinematic composers, producers and beatmakers. Synth Wave and Epic Atmospheres each contain 20 new patches, and join the existing Motion Textures and Dark Machina offerings to bring the total expansion count to four packs.

Synth Wave

Synth Wave contains 20 presets that deliver an assortment of pulsing basses, arpeggios, leads and nostalgic chord voicings. A second set of sessions then pushes the pack into darker, more atmospheric territory, offer a collection of patches that are well suited to retro-futuristic scoring for film, TV and games. The company say that each preset combines analogue character and vintage imperfections with modern movement and cinematic depth.

Epic Atmospheres

Epic Atmospheres has been designed for composers scoring dystopian and science-fiction, and delivers a set of 20 immersive sessions built around a collection of analogue synthesisers, deep drones, enormous reverbs and evolving harmonic textures. Each session has been designed to create movement as chords are sustained, allowing modulations and spatial depth to shift continuously rather than settle into a static pad. The pack draws its inspiration from the scoring lineage of Vangelis' original Blade Runner, as well as Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch's work on Blade Runner 2049.

“The Pulse was built with more power than any single preset collection could show on its own. Synth Wave and Epic Atmospheres open up two directions we hadn't covered yet, and across all four packs composers now have a genuine spread to draw on." — Tilman Sillescu, Co-Founder, Sonuscore

Compatibility

Synth Wave and Epic Atmospheres require The Pulse V1.1 or above, which runs in Native Instruments’ Kontakt Player version 7.10.7 or higher, and is supported on PCs running Windows 10 and above, and Macs running macOS 12 or later. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available, along with a standalone application.

Pricing & Availability

Synth Wave and Epic Atmospheres are available now, priced at €29 each.
