NEW YORK, October 1. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump stated that the Pentagon’s official report on ammunition shortages is nothing but "fake news."
"I would say it was mostly fake news," the leader said in an interview with the Time magazine.
In September, the Pentagon’s inspector general released a report on Operation Epic Fury, which said that Washington had spent $33.4 billion between February 28 and June 29. Spending on ammunition is estimated at $22.3 billion. "The munitions expenditure on Operation Epic Fury has resulted in strategic inventory shortfalls and revealed industrial base bottlenecks for munitions resupply," the report said.
