State Representative Omar Blanco recently traded his legislative office for the kennels at PAWS4you Rescue, spending the day getting hands-on with the organization’s dedicated team and helping care for animals in need. As part of his “On the Job with OB” initiative, Representative Blanco joined PAWS4you Founder & Executive Director Carol Caridad for a day of service at the rescue. During his visit, he bathed puppies, walked dogs, cleaned kennels, and washed food and water bowls, experiencing firsthand the daily work required to provide a safe, healthy and loving environment for rescued animals.

Representative Blanco also met with Caridad to learn more about PAWS4you’s mission, the challenges facing animal rescue organizations and the facility’s current and future needs. Their conversation included the organization’s upcoming Capital Campaign, which will support major renovations and improvements to PAWS4you’s longtime facility.

“Having Representative Blanco spend the day alongside our team was incredibly meaningful,” said Carol Caridad, Founder & Executive Director of PAWS4you Rescue. “He didn’t just come to visit and tour our retreat, he literally rolled up his sleeves and experienced the work that goes into caring for these animals every single day. His willingness to listen, act and serve while learning about our needs means so much to us and to the animals who depend on PAWS4you everyday.”

“There’s no better way to understand the incredible work happening in our community than to roll up your sleeves and be a part of it,” said Representative Blanco. “At PAWS4you, I got to see firsthand the time, care and heart that goes into giving these animals a second chance. I’m grateful to Carol and the entire team for having me, putting me to work, and showing me what they need to keep this important mission moving forward.”

The visit highlighted the importance of community involvement and continued support for animal welfare organizations. As PAWS4you prepares to launch its Capital Campaign, the organization hopes to bring greater awareness to the significant facility improvements needed to expand its ability to care for rescued animals and serve the community.

“PAWS4you has been a part of this community for decades, and our goal is to ensure that the facility can continue serving animals and families for generations to come,” added, Carol. “We are grateful for leaders like Representative Blanco who take the time to understand both the daily realities and the long-term vision behind our work.”
