It is an undeniable fact that, in our nation’s history, the current administration has the least qualified and most incompetent cabinet members heading our important agencies.

While Sen. Susan Collins frequently cites her record of never missing a vote in the Senate, it is the merit of those votes that matters. If readers followed the Maine Sunday Telegram’s column on how our legislators voted in the prior week, they may recall that she votes for Trump’s right-wing judge nominees. If they check further, they will find that Collins’ vote was one of those that put the notorious Florida District Court Judge Aileen Cannon on the bench during Trump’s first term. 

Mainers deserve more than a rubber stamp when the U.S. Senate acts on important nominations and policy issues.
