Women: Hector Prepared For Wolves

Дата публикации: 02-10-2026 14:37:20

Watford FC Women Head Coach Renée Hector is looking forward to taking on Wolves in a battle of newly-promoted clubs on Sunday (October 4, 2:00pm KO).
The Golden Girls earned their place in WSL2 this season by winning the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division title, while Wolves booked their spot through the play-offs.
Hector’s side will be looking for their opening win of the campaign at AFC Telford’s SEAH Stadium, but Wolves have already earned a pair of victories at the new level.
“Every week is going to be tough opposition,” Hector said.
“Wolves have come up and are one of the promoted sides, but they've managed to pick up a couple of wins, so they'll be in a good moment.
“But, as I've said every week, I firmly believe that we can win points off anybody.
“I said after the last game that I feel like we're so close to clicking, and I really believe this weekend is going to be the one that we finally do.”Hector has some decisions to make regarding team selection, particularly after a much-changed line-up impressed in a narrow 1-0 defeat to top-flight outfit Crystal Palace in the Subway Players Cup.
“There’s no point rotating if you're not going to take note of performances that have happened in cup competitions,” Hector said.
“A lot of them performed very well.
“We may see some new faces on Sunday, we may not.
“But it's a positive thing for me that the squad is incredibly competitive, and it's really difficult week on week to pick a starting 11.
“That’s a good thing, as much as it gives me a headache! That's a positive problem to have.
“We know that whoever we choose to start the game on Sunday, they'll be ready.”Get Your Tickets
