MOSCOW, October 6. /TASS/. The liberation of Golubkovo in the Zaporozhye Region broadens the Russian army’s opportunities in that frontline area and creates a bridgehead for its advance on Novonikolayevka, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported.

The ministry reported earlier on Tuesday that assault teams of the 36th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade of the 29th Combined Arms Army from Russia’s Battlegroup East had breached the Ukrainian army’s prepared defenses and liberated the settlement of Golubkovo in the Zaporozhye Region "through decisive operations."

"During tense and lengthy battles, the fighters crushed the militants’ resistance and established control of that community. In the liberation of Golubkovo, up to a company of enemy manpower, two armored combat vehicles, eight motor vehicles, 12 motorcycles, 16 ground robotic platforms and over 30 heavy hexacopters were destroyed," the ministry said in a statement.
