MOSCOW, October 8. /TASS/. The World Health Organization (WHO) has not confirmed reports of new plague cases in the Irkutsk Region in Russia’s Siberia, the country’s sanitary watchdog, Rospotrebnadzor, said in a press release on Thursday.
"The World Health Organization also did not confirm information about new [plague] cases. In response to requests from the WHO and in compliance with international medical and sanitary norms, Rospotrebnadzor submitted full and exhaustive information about the measures taken, confirming the absence of any risks to the population’s health," the press release reads.
